The Rochford District Jobs, Skills & Volunteering Fair will return on Tuesday 2 June 2026, offering residents an opportunity to explore local employment, training, and volunteering options in one place. The free event will be held from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm at The Mill Arts & Events Centre in Rayleigh.
Organised in partnership by Rochford District Council, Rayleigh Jobcentre Plus, and the Rayleigh, Rochford and District Association for Voluntary Service, the fair aims to connect job seekers, career changers, and volunteers with a wide range of local organisations.
The event is designed to support people at all stages of their careers, whether they are entering the workforce for the first time, seeking new skills, or looking for opportunities to contribute to community development through volunteering.
Attendees will be able to engage directly with employers, training providers, and community organisations, gaining insight into available roles, skill-building programmes, and local support services. Participating organisations include London Southend Airport, Trust Links, Adult Community Learning Essex, and Employ-Ability, among others.
Council leaders have emphasised that the initiative is intended to strengthen both individual career pathways and the broader local economy by improving access to opportunities and guidance. Rochford District Council leadership described the fair as a platform that helps residents take confident steps toward employment, upskilling, or volunteering engagement.
The event highlights ongoing efforts to improve workforce participation and skills development at the community level, while fostering stronger connections between employers and residents in the Rochford district.
Residents interested in attending can register for free through the official event listing.
