CVRD Health has raised $5 million in a seed funding round led by Upfront Ventures, with participation from Waterline Ventures and Distributed Ventures, to expand its platform for managing healthcare and benefits compliance for federal government contractors.
The company focuses on modernizing how contractors comply with complex federal regulations, including the Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis-Bacon Related Acts (DBRA), and prevailing wage requirements. These rules require employers working on federal contracts to provide workers with wage-linked fringe benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, paid leave, and disability coverage.
CVRD Health addresses inefficiencies in this system by offering a platform that gives contractors real-time visibility into benefits obligations, spending, and reimbursement flows. The system is designed to help employers ensure that fringe benefit allocations are fully utilized while maintaining regulatory compliance.
The company also integrates Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRA), allowing workers to choose personalized health insurance plans funded through tax-free employer contributions. In addition, CVRD provides employee support through dedicated member advocates who assist with plan selection and ongoing benefits management.
According to the company, organizations using its platform can recover 100% of their benefits spend while improving cost efficiency and compliance accuracy. CVRD highlighted early customer results, including reported savings and reductions in healthcare costs through optimized benefit structuring.
The funding will be used to expand platform development, strengthen compliance and member support teams, and accelerate adoption among federal contractors across the United States. The company also aims to scale its operations in a market that handles more than $773 billion in annual federal contracting activity.
Investors say the platform addresses a long-standing inefficiency in the government contracting ecosystem by bridging the gap between regulatory compliance and employee benefits optimization, positioning CVRD Health as a specialized infrastructure provider in a largely underserved segment.
