Karnataka’s IT/BT department has reopened applications for its flagship startup support initiative, Elevate, inviting fresh entries from early-stage startups. The program is part of the state’s broader Startup Policy framework aimed at strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional startup growth across Karnataka.
The Elevate program provides a one-time grant of up to ₹50 lakh to selected startups to help them transform ideas into viable business prototypes. Applications for the latest round are set to open on May 25 through the official government portal.
A key highlight of this cycle is the simultaneous operation of four distinct categories under the scheme. These include general startups across sectors, women-led ventures with majority ownership, startups founded by SC/ST entrepreneurs, and startups emerging from tier 2 and tier 3 regions beyond Bengaluru, reflecting a stronger focus on inclusion and decentralisation.
According to official statements, the initiative has already supported over 1,250 startups since its launch, with total committed funding exceeding ₹293 crore. The program has also benefited women-led enterprises and startups outside Bengaluru significantly, with hundreds receiving grants and support over previous cycles.
Beyond financial assistance, selected startups gain access to mentorship, incubation support, and government-backed technology centres and business incubators. The scheme also includes reimbursement support for patent filings, GST-related costs, marketing, and quality certification expenses, making it a comprehensive ecosystem support platform for early-stage entrepreneurs.
