The National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu and Kashmir has sanctioned and released grants-in-aid amounting to ₹150.84 crore for the financial year 2026–27. The funds have been allocated under the Flexible Pool for Reproductive and Child Health, Health System Strengthening, National Health Programme, and the Urban Health Mission. According to the official order, the grants were released through the BEAMS via the SNA-SPARSH platform to cover salaries of NHM and outsourced staff, stipends for DNB candidates, and incentives for ASHA workers across the union territory.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare sanctioned the funds under the State Programme Implementation Plan for J&K, which were then distributed to implementing agencies and District Health Societies. Major allocations include over ₹65.49 crore to the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, ₹46.29 crore to the Directorate of Health Services Jammu, and significant amounts to Government Medical Colleges in Jammu and Srinagar. District-level allocations were also made, with Jammu, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar, and Udhampur among the key beneficiaries.
NHM has directed Drawing and Disbursing Officers to ensure that funds are used strictly for sanctioned purposes in line with General Financial Rules 2017 and other applicable guidelines. The order prohibits diversion of funds without prior approval from the State Health Society and requires all implementing agencies to maintain proper financial records to ensure transparency.
Healthcare institutions have also been instructed to display the NHM logo prominently on infrastructure and equipment supported under the scheme. Additionally, they must submit monthly financial monitoring and implementation reports to track progress and accountability in the use of funds.
