Lebanon is facing a worsening humanitarian crisis as more than one million people have been displaced due to ongoing Israeli attacks and continued ceasefire violations. In response, Türkiye has delivered 360 tons of humanitarian aid to Beirut, with Turkish and Lebanese officials highlighting the urgency of relief efforts during a ceremony at the port.
The aid shipment includes essential supplies such as tents, beds, blankets, clothing, ready-to-eat food, and other relief materials, aimed at supporting displaced families, particularly in southern border villages. Officials said the assistance is part of a broader ongoing Turkish response, with more than 1,700 tons already delivered since 2024 to address rising humanitarian needs.
Lebanese representatives welcomed the support, describing it as both humanitarian and a sign of solidarity during a difficult period. They also noted that aid distribution is being coordinated through official mechanisms to ensure fairness based on the number of displaced people in each region, helping communities access essential supplies more effectively.
Turkish officials emphasized that support for Lebanon will continue as long as the crisis persists, stressing long-standing ties between the two countries. They also pointed to the severe scale of displacement and destruction, underlining the need for sustained international humanitarian assistance as conditions remain unstable despite the announced ceasefire.
