Applications are now open for the Youth Eco Camp TURAQTY JOL 7.0, launched by the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO as part of its national eco-campaign promoting environmental awareness and sustainable thinking among young people across Kazakhstan.
TURAQTY JOL is an educational initiative designed to instill a responsible attitude toward the environment and cultural heritage among youth by promoting ecological, ethical, and social values. The programme builds on six successful previous editions organized in partnership with Bank CenterCredit as the general partner and Chevron as an official partner.
The initiative is supported by key institutions, including the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Almaty City Akimat, and the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty.
The Youth Eco Camp serves as a national platform that brings together students from all regions to engage in sustainability and ecological leadership. The final stage of the programme will take place in Almaty from July 26 to August 1, 2026, featuring an intensive seven-day in-person camp. Up to 60 participants will be selected through a nationwide competition.
The programme is open to teams of three to four participants aged 14 to 18. Applicants are required to submit an environmental project or startup idea at an early stage of development. Registration is open from March 28 to May 28, 2026, after which 15 to 20 teams will be shortlisted for the final stage.
The total prize fund for the Youth Eco Camp is 5,000,000 KZT. The winning team will receive 2,500,000 KZT, while the second and third place teams will be awarded 1,500,000 KZT and 1,000,000 KZT respectively. Participation in the programme is free, offering young innovators an opportunity to develop their ideas and contribute to sustainable development in Kazakhstan.
