The Road Safety Trust has officially launched its Autumn 2025 Small Grants programme, offering funding for initiatives aimed at improving road safety across the UK. Grants ranging from £10,000 to £50,000 will support practical research projects and interventions designed to reduce harm on UK roads.
This year, the Trust has introduced a new two-stage application process, providing early feedback to applicants and guidance for those invited to submit full proposals. The programme opened on 23 September 2025 for initial “Expressions of Interest,” with submissions accepted until 29 October. Applicants will be notified by mid-November if they are invited to the full application stage, with final applications due by 12 December and decisions expected by early February 2026.
The Autumn 2025 round is an “open round,” allowing applications to address a wide variety of road safety challenges. Louise Palomino, Grants and Impact Director at The Road Safety Trust, highlighted that the updated process aims to make applying for funding more accessible while encouraging high-quality proposals that can make a meaningful difference on UK streets.
Applications are open exclusively to UK-based organisations, including public sector bodies, professional associations, registered charities, and university departments.
