The Korea Safety Health Environment (SHE) Foundation has announced the 2024 Global Seed Grant, aimed at supporting innovative projects by grassroots NGOs and local groups focused on safety, health, and environmental issues. With a deadline of March 20, 2024, this initiative seeks to cultivate community activism and empower local organizations to tackle pressing challenges in their regions.

  • Energy: Innovations in sustainable energy consumption and production.
  • Human Habitats: Enhancements to living conditions in communities.
  • Climate Adaptation: Strategies for adapting to climate change impacts.
  • Environmental Education: Programs aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues.
  • Safety and Health: Initiatives that promote health and safety in communities.

Project Scope And Funding

The grant will fund a variety of project types, including:

  • Campaigns

  • Training programs
  • Content production

Each project can receive funding of up to $3,000, with a total of 30 projects being supported. Additionally, projects that demonstrate potential for further development may be eligible for continuous funding for up to three years.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Global Seed Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Location: Must be based in countries listed in the OECD DAC list of ODA recipients for 2024.
  2. Registration: Grassroots groups must be registered with their respective governments.
  3. Unregistered Groups: Groups consisting of five or more individuals can apply if they submit a letter of recommendation from an officially registered organization.
  4. Ineligibility: Overseas branches of organizations from non-recipient countries and international NGOs are not eligible.
