Austrian company VACE Systemtechnik GmbH has secured a €10 million contract, equivalent to about 6.5 billion CFA francs, to build and equip a vocational training center in Ntui, located in Cameroon’s Centre region. The agreement was signed in Yaounde on March 31, 2026, between Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Mounouna Foutsou and Johann Sesser, representing the Austrian firm.
The project will be financed through a 19‑year loan from Unicredit Bank Austria AG, backed by Oesterreichische Kontrollbank (OeKB). President Paul Biya authorized the loan on May 4, 2026, through a decree empowering the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey, to secure the financing.
Construction and equipment are expected to take 24 months, followed by six months of training support. The center will focus on programs in industry, digital technology, and agro‑industry, aiming to strengthen vocational training capacity in the Mbam‑et‑Kim department and improve employment prospects for young people.
This initiative is part of Cameroon’s broader program to modernize vocational training facilities under the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training. It also introduces a new technical partner in a sector where South Korea has previously played a leading role, particularly through training centers established in Douala, Sangmelima, and Limbe.
