Doufelgou, Togo — June 1, 2026 — The commune of Doufelgou 2 in northern Togo has officially approved a five‑year Municipal Development Plan (PDC) valued at CFA1.13 billion. Local officials describe the plan as a “social contract” between elected representatives and the population, designed to address key community priorities.
The roadmap covers critical sectors including agriculture, environmental protection, education, healthcare, water supply, sanitation, socioeconomic infrastructure, and local governance. It also integrates measures to strengthen climate resilience and promote sustainable land management, reflecting the growing importance of environmental sustainability in local development.
Prepared under a national project to enhance climate risk management, the plan received partial funding from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Its adoption places Doufelgou 2 among several Togolese municipalities that have embraced structured planning frameworks to guide long‑term growth.
Municipal leaders emphasized that the PDC is more than an administrative tool — it represents a collective commitment to improving living conditions and building resilience for future generations.
