S&P Global and the S&P Global Foundation have announced the next phase of their StepForward initiative, a $10 million global program designed to equip young people with the skills needed for an AI-driven workforce. The initiative focuses on improving workforce readiness through education, training, and partnerships with nonprofit and institutional collaborators worldwide.
Launched in December 2025, StepForward supports organizations that deliver innovative programs in AI education, digital skills, and career development. The initiative combines grant funding with skills-based volunteering, allowing S&P Global employees to contribute expertise to youth-focused programs across different regions.
A key feature of the program is its global collaboration model, which includes partnerships with nonprofits, universities, and international organizations. These partners work to provide AI training, employment readiness support, and human-centered skills development such as communication, problem-solving, and collaboration to help young people adapt to changing labor markets.
The initiative also includes support for regional and global organizations such as MIT RAISE, Generation, and other nonprofits working to expand access to AI education and workforce development. Additionally, collaborations with institutions like Stanford HAI and the UN Youth Office aim to broaden awareness and reach millions of young people globally.
Overall, the StepForward initiative reflects S&P Global’s broader commitment to preparing the next generation for technology-driven economies. By combining funding, partnerships, and employee engagement, the program aims to strengthen global workforce resilience and ensure that young people are better equipped for future career opportunities in an AI-enabled world.
