Community groups and non-profit organisations in South Oxfordshire can apply for over £1.5 million in grants over the next year, as confirmed by South Oxfordshire District Council in their February budget announcement. The funding will support projects that improve community facilities, enhance residents’ health and wellbeing, promote cultural activities, and address climate change across the district.
The grants will be available through several schemes, including support for health and wellbeing initiatives, community infrastructure, performing arts, sports and recreation, and climate action projects. The council is also hosting a series of events across the district to provide guidance on eligibility and the application process, with grants officers available to offer advice and answer questions.
Cllr Georgina Heritage, Cabinet Member for Communities, emphasised the importance of continuing support for organisations that help vulnerable populations and strengthen the local environment. The first grant to open will be the Everyone Active Grant in March, aimed at promoting health and active opportunities, with details on applications and eligibility available through the council’s Community Enablement team.
