North Northamptonshire Council is considering the creation of a £895,000 Development Impact Fund to support communities located near the Magna Park Corby development. The proposal, funded through a Section 106 developer contribution agreement, will be reviewed by the council’s Executive on 14 July 2026.
If approved, the fund will finance projects designed to offset the impact of the large-scale logistics development, which spans around 80 hectares and is expected to create more than 7,000 jobs. The initiative aims to ensure that local communities benefit from the area’s continued economic growth.
The proposed grant program would be open to community groups, town and parish councils, and council services for projects that improve community facilities, public spaces, environmental initiatives, parks, and woodlands. Funding applications would be evaluated through a competitive process to ensure resources are directed toward projects delivering the greatest benefit to communities most affected by the development.
The council said the Development Impact Fund is intended to create long-term social and environmental benefits alongside employment opportunities generated by Magna Park. Applicants will also be encouraged to demonstrate how their projects will remain sustainable after grant funding has been spent.
If the proposal receives approval, the first round of funding applications is expected to open in late summer 2026, providing local organizations with new opportunities to invest in community infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents near Magna Park Corby.
