PowerLabs Uses Smart Technology to Reduce Industrial Energy Costs

Dated: June 9, 2026

Nigerian entrepreneur Tobechukwu Arize is the co-founder and chief executive officer of PowerLabs, a technology company established in 2023 to help organizations better understand, monitor, and optimize their energy consumption. Based in San Francisco, the company focuses on providing businesses with real-time visibility into energy usage, enabling them to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen operational resilience.

PowerLabs has developed an integrated energy management solution built around two core products. The first is the Pai Enterprise Sensor, a device designed to monitor all energy sources used by an organization through a single platform. The second is the Pai Enterprise Dashboard, which consolidates energy data into a centralized interface, providing businesses with a comprehensive overview of consumption patterns and operational performance.

Together, these technologies enable organizations to track energy usage in real time, identify inefficiencies, and make data-driven decisions aimed at reducing waste and improving operational effectiveness. By providing detailed insights into energy performance, the platform helps organizations gain greater control over one of their most significant operational expenses.

The company primarily serves organizations that depend heavily on reliable and uninterrupted power supplies. Its customer base includes manufacturing facilities, hospitals, fitness centers, and other energy-intensive institutions where power disruptions or inefficient energy use can significantly affect operations. Through its monitoring and analytics capabilities, PowerLabs helps these organizations maintain continuity while improving overall energy management.

The growing demand for energy optimization technologies is being driven by increasing pressure on businesses to reduce operating costs, improve sustainability performance, and meet environmental goals. As energy prices fluctuate and sustainability becomes a strategic priority, companies are seeking advanced tools that provide actionable insights into energy consumption and resource utilization.

Tobechukwu Arize brings extensive experience in technology, analytics, and business strategy to the venture. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and management from Trinity College Dublin and began his career in the energy sector through an internship at ResourceKraft Energy Management Solutions in 2014, where he gained early exposure to energy management technologies.

In 2015, Arize joined Google, where he spent seven years in a variety of leadership roles. During his tenure, he served as Analytics Lead in Nigeria, Account Manager for Africa, Product Marketing Lead for the African market, and later Global Strategy and Operations Lead. These positions provided him with extensive experience in data analytics, business development, and market expansion.

Before launching PowerLabs, Arize worked at Google X, the research and development arm of Alphabet. Between 2022 and 2023, he led partnership development and go-to-market initiatives, gaining experience in innovation-driven product development and commercialization strategies.

Drawing on his background in energy management and technology, Arize co-founded PowerLabs to address a growing need for smarter energy solutions. The company’s approach combines hardware-based monitoring with advanced software analytics, allowing organizations to move beyond basic energy tracking and toward proactive energy optimization.

As industries increasingly prioritize sustainability, operational efficiency, and resilience, PowerLabs aims to help businesses reduce energy waste, improve performance, and make more informed decisions. Through its real-time monitoring capabilities and centralized analytics platform, the company is positioning itself as a contributor to the broader transition toward more efficient and sustainable energy management practices.
