One World Media has officially announced the nominees for the 2026 One World Media Awards, including the Women’s Solutions Reporting Award supported by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The awards celebrate outstanding journalism and storytelling focused on the Global South, recognizing media professionals who highlight underreported issues, challenge stereotypes, and inspire social change. A large number of entries from journalists and filmmakers around the world were evaluated by an international panel of judges before the finalists were selected.
The Women’s Solutions Reporting Award specifically honors stories that showcase how women and girls are addressing major global challenges through innovation, leadership, and community action. The selected nominees explored themes including gender equality, conflict, resilience, social justice, and women’s empowerment. The shortlisted stories demonstrated strong journalistic quality, impactful storytelling, and meaningful representation of women-led solutions in different regions of the world.
The European Investment Bank continues to support the award as part of its broader commitment to gender equality and women’s economic empowerment. Through its partnership with One World Media, the EIB aims to amplify stories that highlight women’s contributions to healthcare, climate action, education, financial inclusion, and sustainable development. Organizers emphasized that journalism has the power to increase awareness, inspire action, and encourage positive societal transformation.
The 2026 awards process attracted hundreds of submissions reviewed by judges from numerous countries, reflecting the growing importance of global journalism that focuses on human-centered solutions and diverse perspectives. The final winners are expected to be announced during the official awards ceremony scheduled for June 2026.
