Aberdeen Group Charitable Trust has opened its latest funding round for applications, focusing on charities that directly support people by building financial capability and creating pathways to fair work. The Trust is also investing in nature, recognising its essential role in promoting healthy communities and sustainable economies.
The Trust offers three funding programmes: Initiatives, Ideas, and Insights. The Initiatives programme provides substantial multiyear grants aligned with direct programme delivery, with each round focusing on employability, financial capability, or nature. The Ideas fund supports pilot projects that develop sustainable solutions to persistent challenges, while the Insights programme funds research on financial capability and routes to fair work to inform future action.
The Initiatives fund is currently open until 4 February, offering grants of up to £1 million for small- to medium-sized charities. This round specifically targets charities delivering employability programmes, with a particular interest in UK-wide initiatives supporting people over the age of 25. Future rounds of the Initiatives fund will focus on financial capability and nature, with updates provided via the Trust’s newsletter.
The Ideas fund will open in March 2026 and offers funding between £20,000 and £180,000 to support pilot projects that could transform financial capability, employability, or the natural environment. The Trust is especially interested in proposals addressing the impact of AI on social inclusion, with funding available worldwide in communities where Aberdeen Group operates.
Later in 2026, the Insights fund will open to support research on financial capability and pathways to fair work. This programme aims to provide evidence-based insights to guide future action, with details and updates available through the Trust’s newsletter.
