City of Oklahoma City employees demonstrated strong community spirit by pledging more than $613,000 to local charities through the 2025 Heart of the City charitable giving campaign. The annual workplace initiative brings employees together to support residents in need through contributions to organizations that provide essential services such as food assistance, housing support, healthcare, arts, and education across the city.
The campaign benefits a broad network of nonprofit organizations represented by Allied Arts, CHC: Creating Healthier Communities, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, and the United Way of Central Oklahoma, collectively reaching hundreds of community-based groups serving Oklahoma City residents. This collaborative approach ensures that donations have a wide and lasting impact across multiple sectors that support community wellbeing.
City leadership highlighted the exceptional generosity shown by employees, noting that this year’s campaign raised more funds than ever before. Officials emphasized that employees consistently go beyond their professional responsibilities by supporting their community, especially during a period marked by economic uncertainty and personal challenges for many households. Their sustained commitment to giving was described as a reflection of public service values, resilience, and compassion.
A total of 2,501 employees participated in the campaign, contributing an average of $245 each. In addition to direct donations, city departments organized fundraising activities such as bake sales, raffles, silent auctions, and lunchtime events, further strengthening engagement and support for families facing hardship.
Community partners praised the campaign for setting a high standard for workplace giving and for making a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of families across Oklahoma. The Heart of the City campaign, held each fall, remains a long-standing tradition that highlights teamwork, generosity, and the shared commitment of Oklahoma City employees to supporting their community.
