The Delegation of the European Union to Jordan, in partnership with the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts under the Factory Platform – Jordan Art Residency & Studios (JARS) Program, is inviting emerging photographers from Jordan and EU Member States to apply for the “People, Land, Memories” photography residency. This seven-day creative programme, taking place in Amman from 14–22 April 2026, will explore how identity, place, and memory intersect, using photography to bridge cultures, preserve memories, and foster shared understanding.
Fifteen photographers will participate in an immersive experience of learning, creating, and collaboration, working alongside mentors and local communities. The residency will feature hands-on workshops, indoor and outdoor fieldwork, collaborative storytelling, cultural exchange, and evening discussions. It will culminate in a group exhibition at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, showcasing new perspectives and shared narratives, with all proceeds from exhibition sales donated to a local non-profit supporting art and culture.
The residency is open to citizens of Jordan and citizens or residents of EU Member States aged 22–35, who have a photographic portfolio demonstrating skill and a strong interest in intercultural dialogue. Participants should have a good command of English (for EU participants) and English or Arabic (for Jordanian participants). Travel, accommodation, and daily expenses are provided for EU participants and Jordanian participants from outside Amman, while participants residing in Amman will receive support for daily expenses. All participants will benefit from mentorship, production support, and a certificate of participation.
