The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Open Data Charter and the National Committee on Statistics, hosted a two-day workshop on 29–30 July 2025. The event aimed to promote the effective use of open and gender data within Uzbekistan’s public sector.
The workshop brought together data professionals from ministries, government agencies, and state-owned enterprises. Discussions focused on how open data can drive evidence-based policymaking, institutional transparency, and collaboration across sectors. A key area of emphasis was the importance of gender data in supporting inclusive public policy and fulfilling international obligations.
Organized as part of Uzbekistan’s broader data governance initiatives, the workshop helped build institutional knowledge and capacity to improve the country’s standing in global data indices. Participants engaged in activities such as stakeholder and dataset mapping, examined data interoperability and sharing mechanisms, and reviewed global best practices tailored to national priorities.
