The University of Tennessee Foundation (UTFI) is marking a significant milestone in its ongoing fundraising campaign, having reached 70% of its ambitious $3 billion goal. This progress positions the Foundation well as it enters the second half of what it aims to be the most successful fundraising decade in the University of Tennessee System’s history.
In fiscal year 2025, UTFI raised a record-breaking $492.8 million in new gifts and commitments—surpassing last year’s $400 million milestone. Contributions came from all UT campuses, including $428 million from UT Knoxville (with $25.8 million from the UT Institute of Agriculture), $32 million from UT Chattanooga, $20 million from the UT Health Science Center, $8.3 million from UT Martin, and $2.6 million from UT Southern.
These funds are being used to support operational needs, capital improvements, and student success initiatives across the university system. The year’s success was driven by 85,820 donors, signaling strong support for the university’s vision and leadership.
Alumni engagement played a critical role, accounting for 34% of total donations. A record 323,864 alumni are now actively involved with the university, contributing through financial support, mentorship, and event participation.
With strong momentum and widespread donor confidence, the UTFI is on track to achieve its historic fundraising goal and expand its transformative impact across Tennessee.
