Families across Warwickshire who submitted on-time applications for a Reception or Year 3 junior school place for September 2026 will receive their child’s school offer by email on National Offer Day, which falls on Thursday, 16 April. This applies to parents and carers who met the 15 January application deadline.
Warwickshire County Council has confirmed that all school place offers will be automatically accepted on behalf of families, so parents and carers do not need to take any further action to secure the offered place. Instead, families are advised to wait for direct communication from the school, which will provide important details such as uniform requirements, transition arrangements, and term dates. This information will also be available on individual school websites.
The council described starting school or moving from an infant school to a junior school as an important and exciting milestone for children and families. It also reassured parents that the admissions team will be available to provide support for anyone who may need additional guidance after offers are issued.
The council also noted that some children may not receive a place at one or more of their preferred schools, and in a small number of cases may not receive an offer from any of the schools listed in their application. This can happen when schools are oversubscribed and other applicants more closely match the published admissions criteria.
For families who do not receive a preferred school place, Warwickshire County Council said children will automatically be placed on the waiting list for those schools. Waiting list positions will be available from 30 April and will be updated regularly. Families will be informed if a place becomes available at a later stage.
