The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Association of University Centers for Labor Relations and Labor Sciences (ARELCIT) have signed a collaboration agreement in Madrid to strengthen cooperation on labour rights, decent work, and social justice in Spain. The partnership is designed to support joint research projects as well as training and outreach activities that advance the ILO’s labour agenda through academic and institutional engagement.
ARELCIT is a private association of general interest focused on promoting labour relations and labour sciences in Spain. Its work includes defending and advancing the field of labour studies, sharing research with public and private institutions, and building cooperation channels that improve the quality of teaching and research in labour sciences across universities.
Through this new agreement, the ILO and ARELCIT aim to use the academic and university network as a platform to expand awareness of labour rights and the decent work agenda in Spain. The collaboration will also help disseminate the ILO’s reports and research more widely, strengthening the role of university centres for labour relations and labour sciences in promoting social justice and informed public dialogue on employment issues.
