CGO, a communications and technology firm focused on economic empowerment and sustainable development, has launched the Fursa Beta Grant, a new funding opportunity for African-based nonprofits, NGOs, and civil society organisations working with youth, women, and emerging professionals. The grant is designed to help organisations connect their communities to skills, networks, and opportunities that extend across Africa, leveraging Fursa, a new Afro-centric digital platform.
Fursa, which means “opportunity” in Swahili, is a platform created to support Africa’s growing talent pool by combining upskilling, job access, creative visibility, and professional networking into a single ecosystem. It is designed for individuals who are learning, creating, and building, as well as for the organisations that support them.
The Fursa Beta Grant enables selected organisations to onboard up to 150 beneficiaries onto the platform for one full year at no cost, with a total grant value of approximately USD 15,000. Recipients also receive tailored support from CGO, including guided onboarding, group seminars, and one-to-one assistance to integrate Fursa into existing programs and maximise impact.
Beyond early access, grant recipients will have the chance to influence how Fursa grows and serves communities across Africa. The grant targets organisations based in Africa that work with youth or women and focus on education, skills development, livelihoods, creativity, or professional pathways, helping them strengthen their programmes by connecting participants to a broader African opportunity ecosystem.
Applications are open until 15 March 2026, with spaces limited and priority given to the first 100 eligible organisations. CGO encourages interested organisations to apply early to benefit from this innovative initiative.
CGO builds digital tools and platforms to expand access to opportunity, connection, and economic empowerment in Africa. Through initiatives like Fursa, the organisation supports communities, organisations, and innovators in creating a more connected and opportunity-driven future across the continent.
