The Africa Universities Fund, Inc. (AUF) has been officially approved as a Coursera Impact Partner, reinforcing its role as a structured gateway to globally recognized career credentials for underserved learners across Africa. This designation strengthens AUF’s position within the global digital education ecosystem and enables it to scale high-quality online learning opportunities to a broader audience.
AUF has previously partnered with Google to deliver Professional Career Certificates through a structured cohort model, demonstrating measurable learner outcomes and operational credibility. According to Chijike K. Ndukwu, Secretary-General of AUF, the new partnership with Coursera will allow the organization to expand its work significantly and provide broader access to the global digital economy.
The expanded offerings will be delivered via AUF’s Learning Link Campus network, technology-enabled hubs designed to provide digital education to rural and low-resource communities. By leveraging Coursera’s platform, AUF will now offer access to over 60 industry-recognized Professional Certificates developed by leading technology companies and universities.
These credentials cover high-demand areas such as DevOps engineering, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, IT support, project management, UX design, e-commerce, and iOS mobile application development. Programs are hosted by institutions and companies including IBM, Meta, and the University of London, providing learners with globally recognized credentials valued by employers worldwide.
AUF’s model integrates reliable internet connectivity, modern computing infrastructure, and local mentorship to improve completion rates, certification attainment, and workforce readiness. The Coursera Social Impact Partner designation enhances AUF’s scalability, quality assurance, and alignment with international credential standards, furthering its mission to expand higher education access, digital workforce skills, and global credential pathways for underserved African communities.
The Africa Universities Fund, Inc., a U.S.-registered nonprofit, continues to focus on strategic partnerships and its Learning Link Campus network to bridge gaps in education and digital skills development for underserved populations across the continent.
