The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport has launched its annual funding call for organisations and individuals working in the arts and culture sector. Funding is available across multiple categories, including cultural tourism, literature, film, language promotion and preservation, and the performing arts. Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Ricardo Mackenzie, emphasized the importance of the arts and culture sector in creating jobs, attracting visitors, and contributing to the local economy. He highlighted the province’s rich talent and the government’s commitment to supporting artists and organisations to sustain and grow their work.
Applications for funding will close on Monday, 9 March 2026, at 23:59. Applicants are advised to submit their applications at least 24 to 48 hours before the deadline to ensure timely processing, as late submissions will not be considered.
