The European Union, through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), has provided Moldovan entrepreneurs with electricity compensation amounting to over 87 million lei between January and August 2025. This assistance is part of the Compensation Programme launched by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with EU financial backing, designed to support businesses facing increased energy costs.
In total, 1,055 businesses benefited from the programme. Of these, 550 accessed support through the ODA, with 2,160 applications paid and valued at more than 87 million lei. Meanwhile, 505 businesses received assistance via the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), which disbursed over 23.8 million lei for 1,674 applications.
The programme will continue throughout 2025, allowing entrepreneurs to submit applications fully online through the EVO app or the MCabinet platform. To better address business needs, several adjustments were made during implementation. These included extending the application deadline from 10 to 30 days, eliminating the 3% eligibility threshold to broaden access, and prolonging the programme for the entire year instead of the initially planned three months.
