EDP has launched the Solar Social call for proposals to invest up to R$650,000 in installing solar energy systems in 20 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) located within its concession areas in São Paulo and Espírito Santo. Each selected organization will receive a photovoltaic system with a capacity of up to 5 kWp, aiming to reduce electricity costs and promote sustainable energy practices.
In exchange, participating CSOs are required to present projects that reinvest the savings from reduced energy bills into social initiatives, such as infrastructure improvements or expanded services. The selection process will evaluate proposals based on their social impact, alignment with EDP’s energy and education priorities, organizational management capacity, governance standards, and technical feasibility for solar installation, including sufficient physical space.
Beyond providing equipment, EDP will deliver training sessions on energy efficiency, responsible energy use, and solar system maintenance to strengthen the organizations’ capacity to manage the generated energy. The results of the selection process will be announced on December 12, with the implementation of selected projects scheduled for 2026.
