Unlocking Opportunities: WBF Move Grants Now Open for Applications

The Western Balkans Fund (WBF) has announced the opening of its Fifth Call for WBF Move Grants, aimed at enhancing regional cooperation and mobility within the Western Balkans. This initiative encourages individuals to explore new perspectives, embrace diversity, and engage actively with local and regional issues, fostering a sense of responsibility towards creating a more inclusive and sustainable region.

Objectives of the WBF Move Grants

The WBF Move Grants aim to support personal and professional growth through:

  • Professional Mobility: Supporting travel for artists, cultural professionals, academics, journalists, and activists.
  • Regional Cooperation: Creating links between professionals to foster collaboration.

Eligible Activities

Applicants can propose a variety of activities, including but not limited to:

  • Study or Research Exchange: Short-term or long-term stays at universities or research institutions.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Workshops, seminars, or training programs relevant to their field.
  • Internships and Work Placements: Practical experience in organizations within the region.
  • Conference and Event Attendance: Participation in academic events to present research and network.
  • Artistic and Cultural Projects: Involvement in festivals, exhibitions, or collaborations.
  • Policy Development and Advocacy: Research projects or placements in international organizations.
  • Field Research and Data Collection: Conducting research in various geographical locations.
  • Collaborative Projects and Partnerships: Facilitating cooperation between individuals or organizations.
  • Community Engagement: Participation in community projects to address social causes.
  • Sports Projects & Exchange: Involvement in regional sports events.

Ineligible Activities

Certain actions are not eligible for funding:

  • Actions covered by WBF’s annual calls for proposals.
  • Activities lacking a regional exchange and cooperation component.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the WBF Move Grants, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old on the application deadline.
  • Hold citizenship from one of the WBF contracting parties: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, or Serbia.
  • Be part of a legal public or non-public organization established in one or more of the WBF contracting parties.

This initiative represents a significant opportunity for individuals in the Western Balkans to enhance their skills, broaden their horizons, and contribute to regional development. Interested applicants are encouraged to prepare their proposals ahead of the November 15 deadline.
