On International Women’s Day, the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP) officially inaugurated the UNDP-supported ALEAP Aarohi Childcare Centre at the ALEAP Industrial Estate in Pragathinagar. The event was graced by Angela Lusigi, the resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) India, alongside state government officials, industry representatives, development institutions, and entrepreneurs.
This initiative is part of a broader project titled “Boosting Female Labour Force Participation through Strengthened Urban Care Ecosystem,” which is supported by UNDP. The project focuses on addressing one of the major challenges faced by working women: access to safe, reliable, and affordable childcare facilities close to their workplaces.
The ALEAP Aarohi Childcare Centre has been specifically designed as a workplace-based childcare facility to cater to the needs of women working in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and industries within and around the ALEAP Industrial Estate. The centre aims to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, allowing mothers and working parents to pursue their employment or entrepreneurial ventures with greater peace of mind and confidence.
