The Philippine Embassy in Singapore is celebrating Filipino Food Month 2026 under the theme “Connected by Taste: The Filipino Food in the Flavors of ASEAN,” highlighting the Philippines’ culinary connections with its ASEAN neighbors while honoring its unique food traditions. Established through Proclamation No. 469 in 2018, the annual observance promotes Filipino cuisine as an expression of national culture and is led by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Department of Tourism, and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement.
To mark this year’s celebration, the Embassy is collaborating with renowned chefs and restaurants in Singapore to showcase Filipino gastronomy. Key events include “Kain Tayo” at Feast Asia, Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel, a three-week buffet featuring regional dishes curated with Chef Edward Lim Esmero, and the Lechon Diva Pop-Up at Redhouse Seafood, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, highlighting Dedet dela Fuente’s mastery of roast pork and communal dining.
These culinary initiatives aim to strengthen culinary diplomacy, foster appreciation for Filipino food, and build connections between Filipino and Singaporean communities. Additional activities, collaborations, industry events, and digital initiatives promoting Filipino food establishments in Singapore are planned throughout April.
The Embassy encourages the Filipino community, Singapore residents, and friends of the Philippines to participate in the month-long celebration and explore the richness and diversity of Filipino cuisine.
