Nscale Secures $2B in Europe’s Largest Funding Round

Dated: March 10, 2026

UK-based AI infrastructure company Nscale has raised $2 billion in a Series C funding round, marking the largest investment round in European history. The funding values the company at $14.6 billion and was led by Aker ASA and 8090 Industries, with participation from major technology and investment firms including Nvidia, Dell, Citadel, and Nokia. The round also brings notable industry leaders onto the company’s board, including former Meta executives Sheryl Sandberg and Nick Clegg, along with former Yahoo president Susan Decker.

With this latest round, Nscale has secured more than $4.5 billion in equity funding within less than six months. The investment will support the expansion of the company’s vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform, which includes GPU computing capacity, networking systems, data services, and orchestration software. The company plans to use the capital to scale its operations and expand infrastructure across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Nscale has already been expanding its presence in the AI infrastructure sector. The company recently signed a major agreement with Microsoft to build four AI data centers across Europe and the United States. It has also partnered with Aker ASA on the Stargate Norway project, a 230-megawatt data center in Narvik that will operate entirely on renewable energy.

As part of the announcement, Nscale confirmed that the Aker Nscale joint venture, formed in 2025, will be fully integrated into the company. Aker will remain a key shareholder, and its CEO Øyvind Eriksen will continue serving on the board. The integration is expected to strengthen project delivery and governance while maintaining existing commitments related to sustainability initiatives such as waste heat reuse and local workforce development.

The funding comes as demand for AI infrastructure continues to grow rapidly across Europe. Industry spending on AI infrastructure in the region is projected to reach $22.6 billion in 2026, rising from $17.99 billion in 2025. Nscale plans to use the new investment to expand its infrastructure footprint and strengthen its engineering and operational teams worldwide.
