The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, in partnership with PGA TOUR Superstore, has awarded $7.6 million in grant funding over three years to the PGA of America REACH Foundation to expand access to golf for youth and Veterans. The investment will enhance PGA REACH programs and create new opportunities for underserved communities across the country.
As the charitable arm of the PGA of America, the REACH Foundation focuses on positively impacting youth, military members, and underserved populations by providing access to PGA of America Golf Professionals, PGA Sections, and golf programs. The new funding will provide 6,000 PGA Jr. League Scholarships to youth over the next three years, removing financial barriers to participation and encouraging wider engagement in the sport.
The grant will also establish PGA Opportunity Leagues in 30 markets nationwide. These leagues, operated by PGA Professionals in partnership with First Tee, will provide youth in underserved areas with access to courses, clubs, shoes, and uniforms at no cost. Communities with existing First Tee programs will be eligible to apply for funding to create a PGA Opportunity League, expanding local access to structured golf programs.
In addition, the funding will support the PGA HOPE program, serving over 2,300 Veterans across the United States and growing to 80 locations in Georgia. PGA HOPE introduces Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers to golf to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being, with all programs offered free of charge.
Arthur M. Blank highlighted the broader benefits of golf, emphasizing that the sport teaches life skills and provides opportunities for personal and professional growth. He expressed pride in supporting both youth and military Veterans through these programs and expanding access nationwide. PGA of America President Don Rea noted that the grant empowers PGA Professionals to remove barriers for youth and Veterans, fostering inclusivity and community impact through the game of golf.
The grant aligns with the missions of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, PGA TOUR Superstore, and PGA of America REACH Foundation to strengthen communities, provide equitable access to sports and recreation, and support long-term youth and Veteran development. The funding will allow the organizations to reach more participants and deliver meaningful, life-changing experiences through golf.
