In La Quinta, California, the FIND Regional Food Bank received a significant boost in its fight against food insecurity with a $200,000 donation presented on Thursday.
The funds were raised by members of the Hideaway Golf Club during their annual campaign to support local food banks. This contribution will enable the FIND Regional Food Bank to continue providing essential meals to people in need across the region.
Debbie Espinosa, President and CEO of the FIND Regional Food Bank, emphasized the growing challenges faced by many families due to rising costs of goods, housing, and healthcare. She noted that this donation will help alleviate some of the difficult choices people must make between paying for medicines, rent, or food.
According to Espinosa, the $200,000 donation has the potential to support the distribution of over 800,000 meals to individuals and families struggling with food insecurity in the valley.
