The Warwickshire Youth Council has opened its Project Grant Fund 2026, aimed at supporting community and voluntary organisations that provide essential services for young people aged 11 to 17. The fund is designed to strengthen youth provision in three key areas: crime and safety, school experience, and mental health. Projects can run for up to 12 months, ensuring activities are accessible to young people at times and locations that suit their needs. Grants of up to £5,000 are available, with applications open from 16 January to 8 February 2026.
Councillor George Finch, Warwickshire County Council Leader and Portfolio Holder for Children and Families, highlighted the council’s commitment to supporting young people. He said the grant fund will enable organisations to deliver initiatives that promote good mental health, improve safety, and enhance positive experiences in school, helping to secure the long-term wellbeing of Warwickshire’s youth. Eligible organisations are encouraged to apply to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and young people.
Previous recipients of the grant include HAND IN HAND CIC, in partnership with ArtLABRTRY, which delivered a Ukrainian Youth Group project in 2024. The programme offered creative exploration, cultural connection, and a sense of belonging for young people aged 12 to 19. Funding supported visits to galleries and museums, exposing participants to a wide range of modern, classical, and photographic exhibitions. Artist-led workshops allowed young people to experiment with new materials and techniques in a supportive environment.
Feedback from participants highlighted the positive impact of the project. One young person shared that visiting galleries helped them discover new ideas and feel inspired, while another said the project improved their confidence and happiness. Libby Esler, founder of ArtLABRTRY, described the initiative as leaving a lasting, positive impact on the lives of the young people involved.
To be eligible for funding, organisations must ensure their projects are inclusive, accessible without referral systems, and aim to positively affect the lives of young people. Full details and applications will be available from 16 January via Information for Friends and Partners – Child Friendly Warwickshire.
