Mizuho Americas, through its charitable arm, the Mizuho USA Foundation, announced $1 million in grants for 2025, aimed at strengthening and sustaining communities by supporting programs that tackle economic and societal challenges. The foundation focuses on enabling young adults to acquire technology skills, explore career pathways, and build tools for sustainable employment, partnering with nonprofit organizations that intersect technology and education.
The foundation operates two main grant programs to assist nonprofits providing technology skills training and employment opportunities for young adults in New York City. FutureReady Grants offer multi-year funding for nonprofits developing high-impact initiatives, while Opportunity Grants provide one-year general operating support to help organizations maintain and expand their programs.
Through the FutureReady Grant, the foundation awarded $450,000 to Pursuit for the launch of the AI Build Corps for Nonprofits, a three-year initiative in New York City. The program combines AI training with paid nonprofit internship placements, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience in AI-augmented roles while helping nonprofits improve AI literacy and operational efficiency. Pursuit’s efforts aim to prepare adults from low-income communities for AI-enabled careers, generating significant long-term income gains.
Opportunity Grants totaling $275,000 were distributed to eleven nonprofit organizations engaged in technology training and job placement in New York City, supporting their general operations and expanding access to technology-driven employment pathways for young adults.
In addition, the foundation awarded $250,250 in Community Involvement Grants to 24 nonprofit partners of Mizuho US offices and employee resource groups, supporting employee-led initiatives and community engagement. Since its inception in 2003, the Mizuho USA Foundation has awarded nearly $16 million in grants, consistently investing in programs that help young adults acquire technology and professional skills needed for competitive employment.
