Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan TD, has announced capital grants totaling €181,741 to six arts and culture organisations to support the upgrading and development of their facilities. This funding is part of Stream E of the Cultural Capital Scheme, a €1.4 million investment programme aimed at enhancing existing arts and culture centres across Ireland.
Since its launch on 14 June 2023, Stream E has awarded a total of €1,178,617, benefiting 38 organisations nationwide. The scheme prioritises projects that not only improve artistic infrastructure but also reduce carbon footprints and expand capacity for artistic production. It remains open for applications until the fund is fully allocated.
Minister O’Donovan highlighted the importance of such capital investment in strengthening arts and cultural infrastructure. He emphasised that these grants ensure arts facilities remain accessible to communities and continue to thrive for future generations, underlining the government’s commitment to supporting the vitality of the country’s arts and culture sector.
