The 2025 International Labour Festa on Youth and the Future of Work, co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province, Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labour, and the International Labour Organization (ILO), will take place from 15 to 17 December 2025 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The event aims to catalyze local and global action on youth employment amid the growing impacts of AI, automation, green jobs, and evolving work models, while emphasizing young people’s rights at work.
Jointly organized by the Gyeonggi Provincial Government and the ILO, with support from Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labour, the Festa will explore the challenges and opportunities faced by young people in a rapidly changing world of work. Key topics include remote work, the green economy, AI, automation, the gig economy, and the importance of meaningful youth engagement in shaping labour practices.
With one in five young people globally classified as not in employment, education, or training (NEET), the Festa will bring together experts, policymakers, social partners, and young people themselves to identify barriers to productive employment and decent work. The event will also highlight innovative policy and programmatic solutions developed at the local level, co-created by young people and stakeholders to ensure relevance and impact.
The Festa will provide a platform for collaborative dialogue to shape sustainable future labour policies, with participation from government representatives, employers’ and workers’ organizations, and approximately 100 young people aged 18 to 35 from around the world. Media representatives are invited to cover the event, with registration details provided by the organizers.
