Aidsfonds has launched an open call for proposals for the 2026–2028 period, inviting community-based organisations, NGOs, and medical institutions to implement evidence-based strategies that identify children and adolescents living with HIV (ages 0–14) and connect them to life-saving antiretroviral treatment and ongoing care in Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Nigeria.
The initiative forms part of the Aidsfonds Paediatric HIV Programme, with a strong focus on case identification and partial support for strengthening health systems in alignment with the Minimum Package of Care outlined in the full call. Proposals should demonstrate the current paediatric HIV detection and treatment gaps in densely populated, high-prevalence regions, supported by biomedical data.
Eligible applicants must be nationally registered, community-based, non-profit or non-governmental organisations with at least four to five years of experience in paediatric HIV programming and a governance structure aligned with the objectives of this call. Applications may be submitted individually or through a consortium led by a community-based organisation. Each organisation may apply only once as a lead applicant.
A total budget of EUR 2,775,000 is available for the funding period from 1 April 2026 to 31 December 2028. Budget proposals may range from EUR 125,000 per year for Nigeria to EUR 200,000 per year for Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, and Tanzania. Aidsfonds expects to support one project per country, totalling five funded applications.
Applications must be submitted in English through the Aidsfonds Good Grants platform no later than 30 January 2026 at 23:59 CET. A Q&A session will be held on 10 December 2025 at 13:00 CET, and participants are required to confirm attendance through the provided form. The session will be conducted in English.
