On 25 November, the EU Delegation to Jordan launched its campaign for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), unveiling a programme designed to raise awareness and mobilize action against all forms of GBV, with a particular focus on digital violence this year. The campaign began with a public screening of the award-winning film “Inshallah Walad,” followed by a Q&A session with the film’s director, Amjad Al Rasheed, and Lama Hattab, CEO of Generations for Peace, moderated by Angela Martini, Deputy Head of Delegation.
During the 16 Days of Activism, the Delegation will engage audiences through multiple initiatives. A five-episode videocast series featuring TV presenter Alaa Bushnaq will explore issues of GBV, digital safety, and women’s empowerment. A social media campaign will provide practical tips on preventing and reporting digital violence, along with stories highlighting EU-funded projects that work to combat GBV and empower women. Additionally, two stand-up comedy shows will use humor as a tool to spark dialogue and raise awareness about sensitive issues.
The campaign was officially symbolized by the Delegation’s “family photo,” representing unity, commitment, and collective responsibility in the fight against gender-based violence, setting the tone for the activities planned over the 16-day period.
