Japan has announced an Emergency Grant of USD 4 million to support Jamaica, Cuba and Haiti following the severe destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa. The funding aims to help communities recover quickly from the widespread damage inflicted across the Caribbean region.
Through this grant, Japan will provide humanitarian assistance in critical sectors, including food supplies, temporary shelters and health services. The support will be delivered in partnership with the World Food Programme and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, ensuring that essential relief reaches the most affected populations.
Japan has also emphasized its commitment to working closely with partner governments and international organizations to facilitate rapid recovery and help restore stability in the impacted areas.
