The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) has pledged €10 million to the Paris Peace Forum’s newly established endowment fund, aiming to ensure its long-term financial sustainability and support its ambitious growth strategy. The commitment reinforces AKDN’s enduring engagement in global peacebuilding and its emphasis on creating lasting institutions capable of addressing today’s complex challenges.
As a founding member, AKDN joins international organizations, civil society, and private sector leaders gathered in Paris for the Forum’s 8th edition, themed “New Coalitions for Peace, People and the Planet.” The 2025 Forum seeks to foster collaboration in an increasingly fragmented global landscape, emphasizing collective solutions to shared crises.
His Highness the Aga Khan highlighted the importance of enduring institutions that promote cross-border cooperation, stating that the Paris Peace Forum has demonstrated its capacity to bring together diverse stakeholders and inspire practical action. The €10 million contribution, he said, will help the Forum sustain its mission to advance peace and equity worldwide.
Representatives from the Aga Khan Foundation are actively participating in the event, contributing to discussions on women’s leadership, youth engagement, and energy access, as well as presenting a major peacebuilding initiative in Afghanistan.
AKDN’s collaboration with the Paris Peace Forum builds on the Ismaili Imamat’s longstanding partnership with the French Republic, rooted in shared principles of peace, pluralism, and human development. This alliance underscores AKDN’s continued dedication to fostering inclusive progress through cooperation among governments, civil society, and the private sector.
