The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched a new global campaign, #ClimateCounts, designed to communicate the urgency of climate action through powerful numbers and visuals. The campaign highlights 30 climate facts in a visually engaging way to make climate change more relatable and motivate individuals to act.
This initiative comes ahead of the COP30 Climate Conference in Belém, Brazil, and coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, marking a decade of global climate commitments. According to Cassie Flynn, UNDP’s Global Director of Climate Change, the campaign aims to transform awareness into tangible progress by showing how strong climate action can foster prosperity, resilience, and justice worldwide.
Amid growing climate misinformation, #ClimateCounts also focuses on strengthening public understanding of climate issues. The campaign encourages communities to participate actively in the global response, especially as countries prepare to submit updated national climate plans under the Paris Agreement.
UNDP Goodwill Ambassadors and youth climate champions will help spread the campaign’s message across the globe. Initially available in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, the campaign will later expand to more languages to reach wider audiences.
Building on UNDP’s Climate Promise initiative, the campaign draws from the organization’s extensive experience in supporting over 140 countries with $2.45 billion in grant financing for adaptation, mitigation, carbon markets, forest protection, and climate policy. Through #ClimateCounts, UNDP aims to make the global climate challenge personal—and inspire concrete action for a sustainable future.
