The Government of Canada has announced a total investment of $4.1 million in repayable contributions through Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) to support four Sherbrooke-based manufacturing businesses—Les entreprises Dauphinais, Royer, FilSpec, and Attitude. The funding, unveiled by the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for CED, alongside Members of Parliament Élisabeth Brière and Marianne Dandurand, will help these companies acquire advanced equipment, enhance production capacity, and drive innovation in industrial manufacturing, eco-friendly products, and advanced technologies.
This investment comes as part of the federal government’s broader strategy to strengthen Canada’s manufacturing sector amid increasing global competition and digital transformation. The supported businesses will be better positioned to improve productivity, remain competitive, and contribute to sustainable economic growth in the region. By fostering innovation and modernization, the initiative aims to secure long-term success for Quebec’s industrial ecosystem while creating quality jobs and new business opportunities.
The funding is provided under CED’s Regional Economic Growth through Innovation program, which supports entrepreneurs and organizations driving innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable development across all regions of Quebec. Through this initiative, the Government of Canada reaffirms its commitment to building a resilient and inclusive economy where regional businesses—like those in Sherbrooke—play a vital role in advancing the country’s prosperity and industrial strength.
