The European Union Delegation to Zimbabwe has launched a call for applications for the 2026–2028 cohort of the Team Europe Youth Sounding Board (YSB). This initiative seeks to include young men and women from all provinces of Zimbabwe, both urban and rural areas, and people with disabilities. The program targets youth passionate about Zimbabwe’s socio-economic development, particularly in the field of youth empowerment. The application period will remain open for four weeks, inviting eligible candidates to participate.
The Team Europe Youth Sounding Board provides young Zimbabweans with a platform to advise the EU Delegation and EU Member State Embassies on their programs and activities. The Board will allow youth voices to be integrated into EU initiatives, ensuring policies and projects reflect the perspectives and priorities of today’s Zimbabwean youth. Members will serve on a voluntary basis for two years, engaging in discussions on climate-smart agriculture, green economic growth, human development, good governance, human rights, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
Over the years, the Youth Sounding Board has influenced youth-focused projects and strategies, contributing to tangible improvements in programs affecting young people in Zimbabwe. Members participate in approximately 60 days of activities per year, including online and field engagements. While the role is voluntary, the EU covers all reasonable expenses to facilitate full participation.
Joining the Team Europe YSB offers members the opportunity to shape youth empowerment initiatives, represent the diverse voices of Zimbabwean youth, engage with EU decision-makers on priority areas of cooperation, and gain valuable experience in international cooperation.
Eligible candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old, be Zimbabwean nationals or permanent residents, not hold leadership positions in political parties, and demonstrate a strong passion for youth socio-economic development and empowerment.
