The Ontario government is investing $6 million to launch the annual intake for the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program (ICCGP), supporting Indigenous communities and organizations in building vital infrastructure projects. These projects aim to foster long-term economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen local prosperity across the province.
“Working alongside Indigenous communities, our government is investing in critical infrastructure that strengthens and sustains prosperous communities,” said Minister Greg Rickford, Minister of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation. “Through the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program, we are funding Indigenous-led capital projects that create economic opportunities and jobs, reflecting our commitment to long-term partnerships that benefit the province.”
The ICCGP has historically supported a wide range of projects, including community facilities, business hubs, and cultural spaces. Past initiatives include a new recreation centre in Webequie First Nation, a community and business centre in Anishinabe of Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation, and a multi-use facility in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug.
Ontario’s continued funding through the ICCGP highlights the province’s commitment to economic reconciliation and Indigenous-led development. Applications for this round remain open until November 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. (EST) and must be submitted through Transfer Payment Ontario. Applicants are required to register with Transfer Payment Ontario to submit and manage their funding requests.
