US President Donald Trump sharply criticized the United Nations, questioning its effectiveness and describing its actions as “empty words” that fail to solve conflicts. He suggested that, rather than awards like the Nobel Peace Prize, the true measure of success is saving millions of lives.
On Iran, Trump called the country “the world’s number one sponsor of terror,” asserting that its nuclear enrichment capabilities had been “completely demolished” under his administration, which he said also brokered an end to a 12-day conflict.
Regarding Ukraine, Trump said he initially believed the war would be easy to resolve due to his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He lamented that the conflict had continued for three years, causing thousands of deaths weekly, and accused NATO countries of hypocrisy for buying oil and gas from Russia while opposing its aggression. As a solution, he proposed punitive tariffs, stating that strict measures by the US and Europe could end the war rapidly.
On the situation in Gaza, Trump urged the immediate release of hostages and warned that unilateral recognition of a Palestinian State would reward Hamas for its actions. He called for a unified global message demanding the hostages’ release rather than giving in to ransom demands.
Trump also criticized the UN over its New York headquarters refurbishment, claiming his offer to rebuild it for $500 million was ignored in favor of a contract costing “between two and four billion dollars” without delivering promised upgrades like marble floors. On migration, he claimed that in 2024, the UN spent $372 million to assist 624,000 migrants entering the United States, arguing that the organization should prevent invasion rather than facilitate it.
The US President further attacked climate and renewable energy policies, dismissing wind power as “pathetic” and labeling carbon footprint concerns a “hoax.” He warned that continued reliance on green energy could lead to national failure, criticized European energy and immigration policies, and highlighted that China now produces more CO2 than all other developed nations combined.
