The 37th European Film Festival (EUFF), Jordan’s longest-running foreign film festival, opened today at the Royal Film Commission in Amman under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali.
This year’s edition features 22 films spanning dramas, comedies, thrillers, documentaries, and animations, from European Union member states, as well as the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the acclaimed Jordanian feature Inshallah Wallad.
“Cinema has the power to transcend borders and bring people together. This year’s selection emphasizes empathy and dialogue. Our festival reflects the strong friendship and cultural bonds between Jordan and Europe,” said EU Ambassador Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas.
The festival is not just about screenings—it also serves as a platform for dialogue, exchange, and learning. Filmmakers from Austria, Greece, Sweden, and the UK will participate in Q&A sessions and lead four workshops for young talents and professionals.
Screenings will run from 13 to 30 September, starting in Amman and extending to Ajloun, Aqaba, Irbid, Jerash, Wadi Rum, Salt, and Zarqa, ensuring access for audiences across the Kingdom.
Organised by the European Union Delegation to Jordan in partnership with the EUNIC Jordan cluster and the Royal Film Commission, the festival celebrates cultural ties between Europe and Jordan through the art of cinema.
All events and screenings are free and open to the public.
