CSR Funding Strengthens Subhojanam Kitchens with New Equipment

Dated: September 12, 2025

Touch Stone Charities, an organization affiliated with the Hare Krishna Movement, has received kitchen equipment worth ₹3 lakh from PharmaZell Pvt. Ltd. as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The equipment was formally handed over by PharmaZell MD, Anant Dattatray Barbadhikar, to Nishkrinchan Bhakta Das, President of Touch Stone Charities. PharmaZell’s HR Manager, Appa Rao, was also present at the event.

According to Mr. Nishkrinchan Bhakta Das, who also heads the Hare Krishna Movement, the upgraded facilities will allow faster meal preparation and help expand the Subhojanam program, enabling more people to receive free meals.

Touch Stone Charities currently serves around 1,200 free meals daily to patients and attendants through the Subhojanam Centre at King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam. Over the past 14 years, the organization has distributed more than 40 lakh meals. In 2022, another Subhojanam Centre was opened at Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Aganampudi, where meals are provided to about 500 patient-attendants daily.

The charity has also extended support during crises such as floods and the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing free meals and essential kits, according to a statement issued by Yaduraja Das of the Hare Krishna Movement.
