NETFUND, in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), is hosting Kenya’s first training on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) under the National Projects Coordination (NPC) mechanism. Scheduled for August 4–8, 2025, the training will be held in Nanyuki, Laikipia County.
This five-day programme aims to equip implementing agencies with practical skills and tools to design and implement effective NbS initiatives. These efforts are intended to integrate ecological restoration with socio-economic development goals, while fostering community resilience, supporting green livelihoods, and advancing Kenya’s climate and biodiversity commitments.
Aligned with the African Development Bank’s Jobs Creation Marker, the training also seeks to enhance institutional capacity for nature-positive, climate-smart development on a large scale.
As NETFUND continues its efforts to mainstream NbS capacity building across the country, this training marks an important step in embedding nature-centered approaches into Kenya’s public planning, development, and climate action strategies.
