The Austin Community Foundation (ACF) has announced the distribution of $2.3 million in grant funding from its Forever Austin Fund to 99 nonprofit organizations throughout Central Texas. This funding aims to support a broad spectrum of community needs, chosen from over 530 submitted proposals. The selected nonprofits represent a wide range of organizational sizes, geographic locations, and communities served.
The Forever Austin Fund is sustained by legacy gifts from donors who have entrusted ACF with permanent endowments to address long-term community priorities. The 2025 grant selection process involved input from ACF staff, board members, donors, and 90 trained community reviewers.
Grants were awarded across three strategic focus areas. In the category of Economic Mobility, 39 organizations received $1.15 million to tackle barriers to generational wealth, career development, housing stability, and support for small businesses. Under Health and Humanities, $949,500 was distributed to 44 organizations working to improve health outcomes and broaden access to arts and culture. In the area of Nurturing Our Region, 16 organizations received $249,000 to promote environmental protection, sustainability, and animal welfare.
Grants ranged from $5,000 to $50,000 and were awarded as general operating support to help enhance the capacity and sustainability of both emerging and established nonprofit service providers.
